"Give it a Tri" Fall 2016

UMass Triathlon Team was at it again during our biannual kids race on September 11th. Despite the horrible weather, we had a great turn out and a lot of happy kids and parents alike.
Lake George Olympic Triathlon
On September 3, 2016 three of our men's triathletes traveled to Lake George, NY for the NECTC Lake George Triathlon. The race started with a difficult swim due to a large layer of fog laying on top of the water making it hard to see where to go. Once all of the athletes came out of the water, the sky cleared up and it was ideal racing conditions for the bike and run. All three of our competitors finished within the top 40 and scored points for the team. Carmine Taglienti finished 13th with a time of 2:21:37, Alexandre Pelletier finished 19th with a time of 2:23:45, and Michael Hanley finished 39th with a time of 2:38:37. UMass finished 6th place overall in points and all of our triathletes had a great performance that helped prepare them for the Westchester Triathlon (NECTC Conference Championship).
